Brickyard Farm lies on the edge of the village of Wedmore, and close to Wells, Cheddar and Glastonbury in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
Set in this peaceful west country location, Wilfs Barn and Ians Cottage are two detached barns which have been converted to provide comfortable and characterful self catering accommodation, an ideal retreat for couples.
The cottages are an easy 5 minute walk to the village and its many amenities. Wedmore is a thriving community with a good selection of shops selling local produce, clothes, shoes, antiques and gifts. There is also a delicatessen, tea rooms, a restaurant and three village pubs.
Located close to the Mendip Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and on the edge of the Somerset Levels, well known for its National Nature Reserves which attract bird watchers from all over the world, there are excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and riding.
Somerset offers a variety of places to visit. Within easy reach are the City of Wells with its magnificent cathedral and Bishops Palace, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey and Cheddar Gorge. Bristol and the elegant Georgian city of Bath are less than an hours drive. Weston-super-Mare is a traditional English seaside resort with miles of sandy beach, and there are many historic houses and gardens such as Longleat with its safari park, Montacute House(NT) and Stourhead Gardens(NT).
Golf, shooting and fishing are also available within 2 miles. Horse racing takes place at Wincanton, Taunton and Chepstow.
